A big congratulations to Daniel and Carmen Achtmann on their first trip with us to the Klosterhof Medingen auction, and their purchase of the incredibly talented Hannoverian mare, Funkenmarie, a 2008 chestnut mare from Fidertanz/De Niro/ E.H. Caprimond. In addition, Mr and Mrs Achtmann also purchased the 2011 Hannoverian colt, Flame Robin from Fidertanz/Donnerhall/Walt Disney, and the stunningly beautiful Fennimore, a 2011 Hannoverian filly from Fidertanz/E.H. Caprimond/Wenzel I. Now we know why these auctions are so gracious and kind as to supply ample amounts of German schnapps at the table throughout the auction.

August 2011
Rideauwood Farm was pleased to host the 2011 Oldenburg Verband (GOV) Mare Inspection and Foal Registration on August 15. On a beautiful day, we hosted our largest inspection to date. An impressive total of 14 mares were inspected, along with 9 foals and 1 yearling that were registered. Proceeding over the day were our judges, Sarah Schröer and Bastian Scharmann from the Oldenburg Verband in Vechta, Germany. The top mare for the day was Hollywood, a 2008 mare from Hotline/Weltmeyer/Walldorf owned by Emma Lord from St Fulgence, QC. The winning foal of the day was Shetan, a 2011 colt from Shakespeare RSF/Winterprinz/Vienna Waltz owned by Sandra Laprise from Vankleek Hill, Ont.
On August 16, Rideauwood hosted the first ever in Canada Oldenburg Verband Mare Performance Test. Due to its late scheduling we had 3 participants. It was a wonderful experience and a significant learning opportunity. The overall Champion Mare of the MPT and the winning Mare of the Under Saddle portion was once again, Hollywood, a 2008 mare from Hotline/Weltmeyer/Walldorf owed by Emma Lord. The winning Mare of the Jumping portion of the MPT was Dalwhinnie, a 2007 mare from Danone/Adlerfarn I/Grande, owned by Drs Andrea and Gus Stringel from Merrickville, Ont. Thank you again to Sarah and Bastian for their guidance and feedback, and a big thank you to Daniel Kehres from Hessen, Germany who was our "Foreign Rider" for the day.

Through their impressive performances in the ring, Susanne and Rheirattack have qualified for Dressage Canada's National Team Grand Prix List. This is a huge accomplishment for them, and is representative of the their continued development to the top echelon of dressage combinations in Canada.
For the first time ever in Canada, the Oldenburg Verband will hold a Mare Performance Test (MPT) at Rideauwood Farm on August 16. The test is open to all Oldenburg registered mares, but is intended primarily for 3 and 4 year old horses. We are excited to welcome Dr Achtman to Rideauwood, and congratulate her on her purchase of the very athletic horse.
Rideauwood Farm initiated the summer competition schedule by competing at the Bromont CDI held at the beautiful Bromont Equestrian Park from May 20-23. It was a successful beginning to the year with 4 horses competing:
- Susanne and Rheirattack were Reserve Champions in the Grand Prix, with a score of 65.9%.
- RD Danyluk (owned by Mrs Connie Darwin), a 9 Year old Hannoverian gelding competing in his first Prix St Georges tests, and his rider, Daniel Kehres, did extremely well scoring above 62%.
- Impressively competing for the every first time at the Prix St Georges level was the team of Modano, a 8 year old Canadian Warmblood gelding, and Marianne Fizet who also scored over 62%, won multiple classes, and was AA Divsional Champion..
- Also competing at a new level was Wanda Jamieson on her 7 year old Westpahalian gelding, Bakari, who showed at First Level, winning multiple classes with scores in the mid 60s.
Rideauwood Farm, competed in the Ottawa Dressage Festival held in Ottawa from 27-29 May. This was a wet and rainy show, but that did little to dampen the success of the riders and horses in the ring:
- Susanne and Rheirattack continued their climb upwards in the Grand Prix ring. They finished as Reserve Champions, and once more posted excellent scores in the ring at both the Grand Prix and the Grand Prix Speciale. Equally encouraging was the extremely positive feedback from the judges regarding their improvement and their future. As a result of these scores, Susanne and Rheirattack qualified for the Dressage Canada's National Team GP list.
- Daniel and RD Danyluk continued with impressive performances in PSG, placing in the several classes.
- Marianne and Modano also had a good show, building on their successes at Bromont the week before.
- Chris Morshead (an eventer that has finally seen the light, and moved to dressage), rode his 13 year old Trakener gelding, Opus IV, to +62% scores at third level in his first ever dressage show.
- Wanda and Bakari competed at First level winning several classes.
- Finally, our 11 year old daughter, Yanina Woywitka, rode in her first show on the wonderful pony, A Tad Cool, to multiple victories in the FEI Children's Divsion, and at Training level with multiple +65% scores.

On 30 May, Rideauwood hosted a clinic by German FEI judge, Ulrilke Nivelle. Horses of various levels from Rideauwood and outside participated. The feedback from all riders was extremely positive, and we would love to do it again in the future.

Rideauwood Farm will once again be trekking off to warmer climes for the 2011 West Palm Beach, Florida show circuit. Susanne with a number of clients and horses will be travelling to Wellington at the end of December for 3 months of warm weather, training, and competition. Susanne will once again be working with Robert Dover throughout her time in Florida.
Rideauwood would like to congratulate the new owner on their purchase of Opus IV, a 1998 black gelding from Elfenspuk/Angard/Grandezzo. This handsome PSG/I1 gelding has placed in PSG and I1 classes at the CDI level, as well as winning at the Young Rider level in 2010 and will remain at Rideauwood Farm to continue his training.
November 2010
Rideauwood would like to congratulate the new owner on her purchase of Donna Negra, a 1997 black mare from Don Primero/Dollberg/Darling. We are very happy that this wonderful to ride, elegant, and talented 3rd level mare will be staying at Rideauwood. Not only is she a talented sport horse, but she possesses an amazing pedigree that is full of proven Grand Prix competition horses. She has produced 4 foals for us, all of which were awarded Premium status at their foal inspections, including Borissa, who can be seen in the July 2010 news item below. Truly, a top quality mare in both sport and breeding.
August 2010
Congratulations to Sue Taylor of Russell, Ontario on of her purchase of "Dragoon", a 2007 gelding from Danone/Rhodos/Aktuell. We are delighted that a horse of this International quality will be staying at Rideauwood Farm to continue his training in preparation of the commencement of his competitive career with Sue. This gelding is from the De Niro son, Danone, who in 2009 produced the highest priced stallion at the Hannoverian Stallion licensing in Verdun which sold to Austria for 330,000 Euros, and is out of the full sister sister of our Grand Prix stallion, Rheirattack. It is interesting to note that the breeding of Dragoon is very, very similar to this winning stallion.
