Rideauwood Farm, located 35 miles south of Ottawa, Ontario along the historic Rideau River, consists of Rideauwood Dressage Training Centre, a world class dressage training facility and Rideauwood Semen Imports, the exclusive Canadian importer of frozen semen for some of the most prestigious private European stallion stations.
The mandate of Rideauwood Farm is three fold:
- to provide premier dressage training for students and high performance sport horses with a focus on competition
- to improve the quality and depth of warmblood breeding in North America by offering breeders access to the world’s best stallions, and just as importantly, by offering breeders access to first class training to establish a foundation for their young horses, and an avenue to market their horses
- to offer North American horse buyers access to well trained, European quality sport horses at a fraction of the cost of buying in Europe
The accomplishments of 2009 in both breeding and sport illustrate the effectiveness and the quality of the Rideauwood Farm program:
- Bakari, an imported 4 year old gelding from Belissimo M, wins FEI 4 Year Old class at Beaulieu
- Forspiel, a filly from For Compliment wins Oldenburg Verband Foal Inspection
- Quartermoon, a colt from Quattro B, is recognized as a “Foal of Distinction” at the Oldenburg Verband Foal Inspection
- “Rare Find”, a two year old son from Rheirattack out of Bella Bambola xx was Champion Canadian 2 year old at the Royal Winter Fair in November, and finished as overall Senior Reserve Champion to the 3 year old Governor General’s Cup winner.
